donald duck

dad thinks I kind of look like donald duck in this picture. I told him I didn't think donald duck would be caught dead in an outfit with a little rabbit on the front of it; nor does he have a head of hair that has a definite red hue to it like mine does.
dad painted the new place all day today. It's coming out pretty nice from what I can tell so far. As for me, I pretty much rode around in the car, snoozed a bunch, visited with my grandparents, and ate much of the day; pretty much a normal day for me, being as I'm already quite popular, especially with the ladies.
mom's exhausted and already sound asleep.

advertencia

as you can see from this picture, it's never too early to start teaching your child spanish.

took a nice walk down the boulevard tonight. absolutely gorgeous night, saw a school of bait getting chased, and a little silent anti-war protest by the fisherman's memorial. I overheard someone saying that they thought it was a memorial service/anit-war protest for a local kid. I felt bad for the people. I've never been a big fan of anti-war protestors, they often seem more into the protest scene and how cool they are because they are anti war and not one of those dark ages, neo-con right wingers. But I'm starting to see their point this time around. My feeling is that so are a lot of other people. better sign off now, my intention is not to spark some stupid war debate; it's a primarily to show off pictures of my son. so I'll do my best to stick to that.

celebration
Well, the francecrew had a nice little celebration tonight. Last night was too busy with the birthing class reunion and all, so we had to put off our champagne toast till tonight. So after Ame's hour and a half nap, we toasted to home ownership, at least two of us did. the little guy thought that with his gas problems and all it might be best to pass on the champagne. he settled for bottle and a nap of his own.

closing
no baby pictures today.
okay, for the those of you who didn't leave after reading that last sentence, we have some non-baby related news for a change. We finally closed on our condo today. appropriately enough, it wasn't a textbook closing, but my advisors, including good old attorney and former groomsman dave helped us navigate through the process. we got the keys at around 1ish today.
So I challenge any of you to try to have as many major life events take place in a window as small as the one we just experienced. Let's see, I graduated from school, got a new job, we had the baby, and bought our first home, all within a two month window of time. Let me know if you think you have a legitimate challenge.
Seriously, once we finally move, it will be nice to finally feel relaxed and settled.

trauma

daddy gave me my first bath, I haven't screamed that loudly in nearly 3 weeks. the justice is knowing that not only did I pee all over him on my way into the dreadful bath, but I had other, much messier accidents all over him during my midnight change and feed. this is me looking at my beautiful momma after my traumatic bathing experience with dad was finally over.

hot

it's a hot day. Little J is two and a half weeks old and that's about the last time anyone has gotten a good night's sleep
the three of us are lying here on the bed hoping the little guy in the diaper will take a nap so the other two members of francecrew can do the same
so far, he's just squirming all over the place...eyes closed, but squirming like it's his job. come on little guy, just a couple hour nap is all we're looking for right now, and for the a/c to stop kicking the breaker.

Still not finding much time to write.
get home from work, play with the baby, spend 5 minutes with Ame, go to sleep.
Here's a pic from a birthday party last weekend. Little J obviously having a blast...a social creature like his dad no doubt.
either that or he likes my shirt about as much as his mother does

sunday afternoon

We're having a nice afternoon around here. Momma has spent much of the afternoon napping as baby J and I had some lunch and watched Tombstone together. Actually I watched the movie, the baby just slept on my chest. Ame is still short on sleep so the nap was much needed. Now the little guy is up again having a post-nasty-daiper-meal.

I'm too tired to write much. Keep trying, but that part of my brain doesn't seem to be working all that well these days. So as a substitute, here is a pic ame took of little J and I hanging out together the other night.

We've been gone awhile. Here's why

I have tons of photos to get off the camera and onto the computer. I figured there are some of you who haven't even seen him yet, so here is a starter set for you folks. since we're rather short on sleep, I think I'll actually go get some sleep in favor of playing on this silly blog.
Note the mad bottle-holding skills of my 5 day old son. and that's just the beginning.
