we did get to the farmer's market here in Topsfield. it takes place at the
Topsfield Fair Grounds in one of the many parking lots. it's a sweet, little farmer's market with two good-size, local farms bringing their goods and a couple of individuals that must be growing a couple of veggies in their own backyards.
since, it's a rainy, rainy Saturday morning I thought it might be best to share what we gleaned from last weekend's summer bounty.

on another note, the fall fair season is around the corner. for those of us on the north shore of Boston the
Topsfield Fair is a must. It does have wonderful animals of all varieties, tons of fair food, lots of carnival rides, so it is an exciting and exhausting event for the whole family. however, I must take the time to mention my favorite of the fairs, the
Commonground Fair in Unity, Maine. my folks used to take me here when I was younger and I have not yet had the opportunity to take my own children. it's run by the
Maine Organic Farmers Association and they appear to put on a wonderful, down-to-earth, family-friendly event. yet again, I will not have a chance to get up. however, if you get to please post some pics so I can live vicariously through you. thanks.
