another little gift.

hi all...this is a little clip from last week. we had quite a week for birthdays for our little friends. so I did make another little bag as a gift. I can't quite recall what this sweet little fabric is, but it was something that I just picked up at joann's. it may be something from alexander henry so the quality is quite good. you may actually recall it from a previous blog.

last weekend...

we did get to the farmer's market here in Topsfield. it takes place at the Topsfield Fair Grounds in one of the many parking lots. it's a sweet, little farmer's market with two good-size, local farms bringing their goods and a couple of individuals that must be growing a couple of veggies in their own backyards.

since, it's a rainy, rainy Saturday morning I thought it might be best to share what we gleaned from last weekend's summer bounty.



on another note, the fall fair season is around the corner. for those of us on the north shore of Boston the Topsfield Fair is a must. It does have wonderful animals of all varieties, tons of fair food, lots of carnival rides, so it is an exciting and exhausting event for the whole family. however, I must take the time to mention my favorite of the fairs, the Commonground Fair in Unity, Maine. my folks used to take me here when I was younger and I have not yet had the opportunity to take my own children. it's run by the Maine Organic Farmers Association and they appear to put on a wonderful, down-to-earth, family-friendly event. yet again, I will not have a chance to get up. however, if you get to please post some pics so I can live vicariously through you. thanks.

a couple weekends ago we had the privilege of camping out on the beach with some of our close friends. we've all developed a few new camping strategies for next time, but still fun was had by all. the setting couldn't have been more stunning and the smores couldn't have been more delicious.

gift for a little friend.

a sweet little friend of ours turns four this weekend, so we wanted to make her a little something. i let jake pick out the fabric from the stash. he said it had to have flowers. we used Amy Butler's clematis/natural from her Daisy Chain line. i used the handbag pattern in Amy Butler's Frenchy bag pattern. i lengthened the handles and squared off the top piece a little more than it calls for.

jake was really excited to help with the cutting out process and some of the pins. he didn't poke himself too many times. hope she enjoys it. happy birthday sweet girl.
