I'm back

Howdy. I'm thinking that this being gone for extended periods of time is getting on some of your nerves. Don't know what to tell you really. Sorry I guess. Anyway, here's a bunch of pictures from the last couple of weeks.

This is me trying to do a little mowing. The grownups are trying to get me to searching all over the yard for imitation easter eggs. I'd rather mow. In one of many concession to the grownups, I obliged and managed to round up a few eggs.

sick and tired

Why the long face? I just realized that at this time last year I had just returned from the beaches and spring baseball of Florida. No, I'm kidding. I don't really understand the significance yet of the fact that a year has passed and there aren't any Florida beach plans for at least another year.

Actually I've been sick. I caught this nasty little bug from somebody in one of my social circles recently. I'll spare you the details, but the big white bowl on my lap ought to give you an idea of what's going on with my body lately. More later hopefully; I really gotta get going.

March...finally.

I know we are not in the clear from winter weather, but there is something about March that makes me hopeful. Just knowing that April is the month after March is so encouraging and I am so ready for the warmer weather - open windows, fresh air, many more walks, long hours spent outside. One thing for me to keep in mind is the motivation I have to work on sewing projects when it's too cold outside to think of doing anything else. I may find myself not in front of the sewing machine as much when the thermometer reaches 60 or 70 degrees. But I don't need to worry about that for a while.

Let me show you what I've been working on lately. Not that all bags aren't helpful to the environment, but these should serve an even larger purpose.

Here's my new lunchbag. It's made out of oilcloth, which I love! The prints are so great and retro. I got the pattern from Dorie at her blog, Tumbling Blocks. Here's the direct link to her pattern.



And the next bag, which I love! It's a reusable tote which I plan on using for the grocery store, library and the summer farmer's market. I picked up the pattern - for free! - at our local Fabric Place store. And I discovered they also have the pattern on their website. Enjoy!



I'm now in the process of making a few of my own designs...I hope to reveal them in the next week or so!
