cold and rainy

Ahhh. Nothing like a good cup of joe to warm up my spirits on a cold rainy day. On a good day, my dad leaves a little tiny drop of it around in the bottom of the mug. Mostly, though I am content to tip the cup up for a bit, let it down, and let out a big, satisfied sigh. I generally get pretty good laughs from that one.

My folks have been telling people that I have been cranky lately, and quite frankly they're right. I've got a couple of sharp teeth stabbing at my gums, topped off by a real mucousy cold. A lesser man would be practically bedridden under these conditions. They're just going to have to learn to deal with a little crankiness.

tis the season

no, it's not Christmas yet. first we have to survive the halloween season around here. In that spirit, sorry for the pun, we are going into the big city this afternoon to visit with one of my friends from way back. While there, we'll be participating in a little costume party on the Common. I have a couple of costumes from which to choose, so I believe that I'll be donning the giraffe this time, 'cause it keeps me nice and toasty. If the past couple of weeks are any indicator, I expect that this will be a good opportunity for people watching. That's all for now, I'm starting to get a "nap time" vibe from my folks.

hi

hey there everyone, I've been up to my usual cuteness and busy-ness. Lots to talk about, but they tell my that this blogger host thing is going down for maintenance in 2 minutes. So, I'll just have to leave you with this picture of my pretty mom.

I don't know what it is about that Elmo character, but he just makes me crazy.

ha ha - just when mom thought she had the keyboard protected from my helpful banging, in comes the foot to the rescue.

hi there

IMG_2841 (click on the picture for gallery)

I don't normally like to put other people's pictures up here because I realize that not everyone wants to be famous on the Internet. In light of recent requests and the fact that I did make reference to my crazy family a little while back, I have decided to put up some pictures from my family outing in Vermont.

I don't exactly know what to call my various relationships to each of the people you'll encounter in the photo gallery. Terms like first cousin once removed, and great uncle are very confusing to me, so let's just say they're family.

Wondering what I'm doing up there in that picture? Well, I'm upholding a family tradition of carrying my great-grandmother's crutch off to somewhere that she'll never find it. We've all done it. It's really pretty fun.

protest

This post will be without a photo as I am protesting pictures for the time being. My cheapskate father doesn't want to pay for haircuts so we had our second little haircut party yesterday afternoon. I was looking forward to it as it means I'll soon be running around naked (fun in itself) in preparation for a bath. Well this time he did a number on my hair and I'm looking a little odd. I know what you're thinking, I could just request all photos be taken of the side he didn't screw up, my good side, but really that side isn't a whole lot better.
